At the start of every year many people reflect on the past and we take some time to think about what we achieved in the last year and how we can improve our life. Our goals and dreams are still very much alive in our mind and the new year gives us another opportunity to make some changes in our future. Whatever it is that you wish to achieve, this is the perfect time to clear negative energy in your mind and home. I will share some techniques that I have learned and that have helped me create my life. I hope this blog post will help you to raise your vibration, set goals and start creating your best life in the new year.
CLEAR YOUR SPACE
When you understand that everything is energy and how it works in your life, everything will start to change. If you are still thinking of all the negative situations that have impacted your life or you still have feelings of resentment towards your family, whatever it is, learn to forgive and let it go! Learning to forgive is a powerful process to release negative energy in your mind and body. Write a list of all the people, situations that have hurt you and read each sentence out loud and draw a line through it. Tell yourself, “I now let go and forgive this person (their name), or situation and allow positive energy and abundance to enter my life.” Meditation is a great tool to clear your mind and observe thoughts as they enter your mind, let the negative thoughts go one at a time.
If you feel that your home has too much clutter, start to declutter, remove anything that you no longer use or don’t need in your life. This is another way to clear negative energy in your environment and create the space for new energy and happiness to flow into your life. If you are too busy at the moment, don’t worry, block some time in your schedule during the week and continue to declutter in the new year. Once you become aware how your energy affects everything, you will understand why you have attracted the people and circumstances into your life.
The next steps of creating your life are much easier when you have cleared your space as you are now allowing new energy of abundance and happiness to flow into your life. When you release negative emotions, your frequency rises and you can manifest your goals faster. In order to design a successful life, change your thoughts and become a vibrational match with your goals and dreams.
ADOPT A GROWTH MINDSET AND SET GOALS
Personal growth is important if you want to improve in any area of your life. I realised a long time ago that if I wanted to be a better person, I had to learn the skills and invest in myself to achieve my goals. The first step in setting goals is to decide who you want to be. Recognise that you are valuable, you are a gift to the world and commit to a personal growth mindset. A growth mindset for me means loving and respecting myself to make changes, to be intentional about growth to reach my full potential. If you are struggling or feeling out of control with your life, reframe your challenges and see them as opportunities and this will build resilience. Be realistic about the things you can control and let go of anything that is holding you back and no longer serves you. Once you have made the decision that you want to change your life, the next steps are to set goals and make a commitment to yourself that YOU will control your future.
Setting goals for me is the compass on my journey, they provide the direction to help me grow and develop my dream life. The best way I have learned to set goals is to have a vision of the future and what I want to achieve. I write down the goals that will create balance and fulfilment in my life. I read my list of goals every day when I wake up in the morning and this is the fuel that gets me out of bed every day to start creating and working on my dream. When you read your goals every day, you keep the subconscious mind focused on your dreams. Goal setting can be challenging if you don’t have a process to follow. I use the goal setting process called, “SMART” goals which I follow as a guide to set my goals to help me monitor my progress. These are SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ACHIEVABLE, REALISTIC and TIME-BOUND.
SPECIFIC
Your goal must be clear to you, what you want to achieve and why. It must be YOUR GOALS, YOUR DREAMS. For example, you want to become an artist but you are afraid that you will disappoint your family if you don’t make any money to pay the bills. What do YOU really want? What will make YOU happy? Everyone is born with a gift, a talent that makes us unique. That is our value, our power and our purpose in life. The house, the cars or the clothes have no purpose if you are not living a life of meaning. When you love what you do, your world will change like magic. I have learned that anything is possible if you BELIEVE and the universe always rewards people when they are using the gifts they were born with and living their true purpose.
MEASURABLE
Choose a date to complete your goal as it will help you monitor your progress. Don’t worry if you don’t have all the tools or resources you need in the beginning. You don’t have to be great, just START with what you have and you will become GREAT on the way! Start today, don’t wait for a perfect time, there will never be a perfect time.
ACHIEVABLE
It is absolutely okay to have BIG AMBITIOUS GOALS but know what you can accomplish within your schedule and the skills you have. For example, you might not have a lot of money to start a business at the moment but what you can do is start part time while you are working a day job and you can succeed if you don’t give up! Be prepared for long hours and giving up your social life for a while until your business is making a profit. If you start doing something you love, you will not give up on your dreams. Each small step will move you closer to achieving your big goals. I like to think of my goals as a journey of a thousand steps, every completed goal creates momentum to reach my dream. My formula for success is persistence, patience and positive thinking.
REALISTIC
Think about the direction that you want your life to go and what you want to achieve in the future. With this in mind, set goals that align with your purpose.
TIME-BOUND
A goal doesn’t mean anything if you don’t take ACTION to achieve it. Set yourself deadlines in your schedule and hold yourself accountable for completing your goals. Time management and working with your schedule will move you forward to achieving your dream. Remember that things will not always work out as planned and this is also part of the journey, but you can always adjust your schedule and try a different process as designing your dream life should not be stressful.
THE LAW OF ATTRACTION
My lifelong journey for studying human behaviour continues, but many years ago I realised that there are some things in this universe that cannot always be proven with scientific evidence and we might never have the answers to all our questions. My journey with this experience changed my perception of the world since I read the book, “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne many years ago. My life changed when I started using the universal laws of the universe, one of these laws is The Law of Attraction. There are many books on these ideas written by inspiring writers such as Deepak Chopra, Esther and Jerry Hicks and many thought leaders around the world that support these principles.
Most people dismiss these universal laws as it seems strange to them and I can understand why! I was skeptical in the Law of Attraction in the beginning of my journey and my question was, “how can I attract the good things into my life?” I can speak from my own experience and how this law has changed my life. It really does work when you know how to use these laws, expect miracles! YOU are the creator of your own life and the evidence is the changes that happen in your life. It is your own experience, your energy, your thoughts and feelings, The Law of Attraction is always working in your life. Most people expect to change their life but they are always complaining about their negative experiences. So guess what happens? You attract more negative experiences into your life. Positive people that are grateful will attract other positive people and situations into their life. This is the Law of Attraction in action. The universe responds to the kind of energetic vibration that you send out. So what do you need to do to attract the good things in your life? It seems complicated but really all you need to do is change your vibration, start feeling grateful for what you have in your life, reframe your perception and this changes your vibration. By changing your vibration, you change the way the universe responds to you and you can manifest a different outcome.
You can manifest anything you want into your life and specific outcomes like your goals!
There are 3 steps to activate the Law of Attraction:
- Ask the universe for what you want
- You need to believe that you will get what you want
- Receive what you want
YOU CAN DESIGN YOUR LIFE
The secret is that you can design your life with positive thoughts as YOU ARE THE CREATOR of your reality. You can use the law of attraction to achieve your goals. It is about focusing on the positive and what you desire as already received in your reality. Whatever you give your energy and attention to is what you will receive in your life. The clearer you become on your goals, the faster you will manifest your dreams. Let go of limiting beliefs and realise that you deserve to live your best life. Set your intentions and believe that you are capable of achieving anything you want and allow the miracles to happen! Feel good now and take control of your future with positive consistent action towards your goals and persistence you can design your dream life.
